Facilitating Learning-by-doing
As an experienced teacher in Canada, I have had the privilege of working with both children and adults, which has enriched my teaching approach and strengthened my ability to adapt to diverse learning needs. I strive to create an engaging and interactive environment that fosters active participation. I prioritize hands-on learning opportunities, where students can engage directly with the subject matter through activities like experiments, projects, and real-world applications. In addition to this, I incorporate collaborative group work, technology-enhanced learning, and differentiated instruction to cater to various learning styles. I believe that providing a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical experiences ensures that my students not only grasp the material but also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Whether it's through interactive demonstrations, role-playing, or field trips, I aim to make learning a dynamic, real-world experience for all of my students.
I have taught at elementary schools and post-secondary institutions in Canada. I currently teach English Language and English as a Second Language to adults. My extensive research and ongoing experience has been in teaching the LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) program to both mainstream and literacy learners. I also teach about Canadian culture to help students appreciate its values and customs, acknowledging the history and contribution of indigenous Canadians as well as other diverse groups, fostering a smooth integration into Canadian society where learners can find joy while embracing their own culture and values with pride.
